At one time I was a florist in my parent's shop south of Miami. When Mother's Day rolled around, it the largest holiday of the year for flowers and everyone was last minute! No one planned ahead for Mom. I think they were out to find a present and couldn't so at the last minute decided to "send flowers"...the rush was on for three days solid arranging all night and delivery people to coordinate. It was a very tiring time and well worth it.

The print shop was Dad's domain, he delivered flowers and in the off time and at night would go back to the big offset press or the old time hand set type press to print his orders. I still remember those old type cases with the individual letters thrown in the proper cubes! If you had done it a long time, you could pick up the right letters without looking and set them in the gauge and lock them down for the press (upside down and backwards, like a mirror image). The offset press used a metal plate that was burned in a darkroom from a film and processed with chemicals. I never did it, too smelly and a man's job. LOL! The print shop was in the back of the florist, interesting combination!

MaryLou wanted me to write something about grooming. Well, I really can't get into "how" that would take awhile...but I have had people tell me it hurt THEM to brush their dog (loaded with matts) one told me her teeth hurt when she did it. I only take small dogs, so I don't get into those giants like Standard Poodles, Golden Retrievers, Old English Sheepdogs all of which are major grooms and take a long time to even "strip" them down. I only take two a day, if I get that many, since I work from the house and my computer is in the same room. The majority of dogs I see are well kept and at least half are poodles and half of those were mine at one time!
